Shark

“I'd better be careful eating this.”

The Shark is the workhorse high-heal food of Old School RuneScape — bought in enormous volume for bossing, PvP and slayer. It's a pure consumable, so its value is all in its live price and how fast it trades.

▼ Sell it on the Grand Exchange — high-alching it loses about 1,010 per cast.

Best use for Shark

Bread-and-butter combat food

A Shark heals 20 Hitpoints per bite, making it the default food for most mid-to-late-game combat before the pricier anglerfish and saradomin brews. Constant combat demand keeps its market huge.

Buy and sell, don't alch

With one of the deepest trade volumes in the game the Shark is easy to buy and sell in bulk. Its alch value sits below its price, so alching a Shark loses gold — it's strictly a sell item.

Shark FAQ

How much does a Shark heal in OSRS?

20 Hitpoints per one, which is why it's the standard combat food across a huge span of the game. The live buy price is in the panel above.

Should I high alch Sharks?

No — its value is entirely as a consumable, and alching it would lose gold. Buy them to eat, or flip them; never alch them.
